About us
Zuffalo is a Canadian rock ‘n’ roll band from Toronto, Ontario who plays groove-based original music with dynamic range that bring you along for an exciting ride. In the back, the drums lift the band while also keeping the groove tight (drummers have included Drew Austin, Eddie Max and Adam Bernstein). Out front, Mikey Vukovich (bass), Kim Manning (keys), and Sean Steele (guitar), all add beautiful vocal melodies and harmonies with lyrics that tell stories with topics ranging from love to science fiction.
Formed in the fall of 2016, Zuffalo has come a long way in a short time. They released their first music video for the song “Saskatchewan” in early 2017, and performed at various festivals throughout that summer, including Orangeville Blues Festival, Funk Fest, Come Together Music Festival, Good Vibes Only, Summer Jam Music Festival and Solstice (OM) Gathering. The band has also shared the stage with bands such as the Fat Cats, The Soul Motivators and KC Roberts & The Live Revolution at the Mod Club in Toronto. This summer they look forward to performing at Kaslo Jazz Etc in BC, alongside performers Mavis Staples, Greensky Bluegrass, and Buffy Sainte Marie.
Zuffalo is focused on keeping music in touch with its roots: community, dance and the celebration of life. With improvisation at the forefront, Zuffalo’s live show is spontaneous and memorable, reaching exciting energetic peaks. With four songwriters in the band, the music is eclectic, ranging from funky grooves to rootsy singalongs, to soaring epics with monstrous riffs. Inspired by genre-blending bands such as The Allman Brothers, Cream and Wilco, Zuffalo combines strong song-writing and improvisation in a way that aims for each live show to be a unique experience.
The band's debut album is set to be released June 15th & 16th, 2018, with release shows in Hamilton and Toronto! Stay tuned for these releases, and for other Zuffalo live shows near you!
